Watchmen actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan may appear in Season 3 of The Boys

Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan is certainly no stranger to the world of comicbooks. The Seattle, Washington native currently stars as Negan on AMC's The Walking Dead, based on the long running series from Robert Kirkman. However, he's probably even more well known for his part as Edward Blake/The Comedian in Zack Snyder's 2009 film WATCHMEN. The film itself was an adaptation of the graphic novel from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. If you've been dying for more comicbook goodness from Morgan you may be in luck as it's possible the actor could appear in season three of The Boys.

The Amazon Prime Video show portrays a world where superheroes are part of everyday life. However, while publicly they may be shining examples of virtue, privately they are narcissistic assholes concerned more about their followers on social media and their cut from the latest film franchise. The first season was a madcap tour de force of violence, dark humor, and strong storytelling. It was also a huge hit with critics and fans and currently holds an 84% critics approval rating and a 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. One of the legion of fans of The Boys was Morgan himself. When asked on Twitter by a fan if he'd ever consider being on the show, his response prompted this exchange between Morgan and The Boys creator Eric Kripke:

Now it is important to note that right now talk of Jeffrey Dean Morgan joining season three of The Boys is just that – talk. Season two doesn't debut until this summer and season three hasn't even been greenlit yet. In addition, just because Eric Kripke says he's going to have Morgan on, doesn't make it so. Plans change, people have agents and salary demands, and scheduling conflicts also come into play.  However, I feel the likelihood of The Boys being renewed for a third season is pretty high and if so Morgan will probably come on board.

If Jeffrey Dean Morgan does in fact join the cast of The Boys it will serve as a reunion of sorts for Kripke and Morgan. Eric Kripke created the CW's Supernatural. Morgan plays reoccurring character John Winchester, the father to main characters Sam and Dean, on the show. Supernatural is in its fifteenth and final season and odds are strong Morgan will appear sometime this season. Given Jeffrey Dean Morgan's past roles, I'd say he'd fit perfectly in the world of The Boys and I could definitely see him playing a villain.

So what do you guys think? Would you like to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan join the cast of The Boys? Did you get a chance to check out the show? If so are you excited for season two? Let us know in the comments below!
