Wayans do Munsters

The Wayans Brothers are a touchy subject. Usually you either love their work or you hate it. More people seem to be on the hate it side. I’m torn. They’re most recent PG-13 humor was just bad. The best things about LITTLE MAN were John Witherspoon and Brittany Daniel (below). Now the older Wayans stuff wasn’t bad at all. Whether you dig it or not, SCARY MOVIE was fun.

But now we’re getting word that the Wayans’ next project is a PG-13 adaptation of THE MUNSTERS. Movie Picture Film recenetly had an interview with Shawn Wayans where he talked about some upcoming projects, including THE MUNSTERS:

“Next we’re taking the old TV show “The Munsters” and making that into a feature film. We’re contemporizing it…something I want to clear up is that we’re not going to be in it. We’re just writing and producing it. We’re going to get some white people and paint them green.”

Wayans also comments on the newest SCARY MOVIES. You can check out the interview over here. I’m not on board for this. THE MUNSTERS are classic. And without the original cast from the show, it’s just not going to work. Let’s just hope it’s not butchered so much that it tarnishes the TV series.
