We talk Blade Runner 2049 with Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling and more!

Blade Runner 2049 is an extraordinary cinematic experience!  More than just a visual wonder, it is a groundbreaking science fiction masterpiece. The most impressive thing about the latest from Denis Villeneuve is just how perfectly it fits with Ridley Scott’s 1982 classic. The astonishing sequel brings back Harrison Ford, and also gives us Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Mackenzie Davis and Jared Leto.

Recently, we had the pleasure of attending the junket for this incredible film. First up, we spoke to Mr. Dave Bautista. You are going to be hearing one thing about this film, do not spoil it for anyone, and that can be tricky during interviews. However, Dave discussed getting involved in the project and how he didn’t think he’d get the part. It was  a bit suprising how grounded and down to earth the actor is. And frankly, without revealing much, he is terrific in the film.

Next up we spoke to Hoeks, Davis and de Armas. The three were also very limited in what they could reveal about their characters, however, they did discuss working with Denis, and just how much of an actor’s director the visionary filmmaker is. That appeared to be the theme of the evening, and frankly, it’s not at all surprising judging from the performances he features on screen.

Next up we spoke to the stunningly talented Robin Wright. The actress is certainly one of the best working today, and it’s also terrific watching her became sort of an action hero with this and WONDER WOMAN. She discussed how the roles for women are changing, and she also gave praise to working with Denis. It really is amazing the level of on-screen talent featured here.

With all this talk of Denis, it was really satisfying sitting down with the filmmaker himself to chat about the making of this massive undertaking. He opened up about talking on the project, and discussions with Mr. Ridley Scott. You’ll be hearing a ton about the incredible world building here, and that is one of the many layers that Mr. Villeneuve brought to this mesmerizing sequel.

And finally, we sat down with both Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling. The two actors are very similar when it comes to junket interviews, they are both quite soft-spoken, but they were also wonderfully kind. Mr. Ford talked about why he chose to return to the role of Deckard. And Gosling opened up about playing K, working with Villeneuve and of course, his legendary co-star. If you love BLADE RUNNER, then you need to find the biggest screen possible, and take in the fantastic BLADE RUNNER 2049 this Friday at a theatre near you.
