Website launch for John Carpenter’s new psychological horror flick The Ward!

More than three months it’s been since last updating John Carpenter’s return to the director’s chair, when it was purported that his new film THE WARD would enjoy a July release. Well, a lot can change in a quarter-year, as we now know the flick is due September 24th. And to get us primed and pumped for the return of one of the genre’s greatest, a newly launched website for the film, which you can visit RIGHT HERE, offers all kinds of sweet new schwag!

In specific, you’ll find a number of behind-the-scenes video clips from the set of THE WARD, as well as official production and set stills. There’s also a Top Ten Q & A segment, a video diary log and Twitter feed updates. Honestly though, it’s the nice touch of inveterate fog that washes over the page that I dig the most (aside from the rad Euro-trash style score).

Written by Shawn and Michael Rasmussen – In JOHN CARPENTER’S THE WARD, Kristen, a beautiful but troubled young woman, finds herself bruised, cut, drugged, and held against her will in a remote ward of a Psychiatric Hospital. She is completely disoriented, with no idea why she was brought to this place and no memory of her life before being admitted. All she knows is that she isn’t safe. The other patients in the ward, four equally disturbed young women, offer no answers, and Kristen quickly realizes things are not as they seem. The air is heavy with secrets, and at night, when the hospital is dark and foreboding, she hears strange and frightening sounds. It appears they are not alone. One-by-one the other girls begin to disappear and Kristen must find a way out of this hellish place before she, too, becomes a victim. As she struggles to escape, she will uncover a truth far more dangerous and horrifying than anyone could have imagined.

Amber Heard, Danielle Panabaker, Lyndsy Fonseca (below), Mika Boorem, Jared Harris, Mamie Gummer, Sean Cook, Sydney Sweeney, Laura-Leigh, Milos Milicevic, Jillian Kramer and Sali Sayler all star in the film.
