we got word that THE MUMMY 3 (but don’t call it that) was on, and Brendan Fraser was back to reprise his role. But we didn’t know if Rachel Weisz would be back to reprise role… and we still don’t, but today we have a bit more light to shed on the deal.
Weisz talked with about the next film, had this to say as to her involvement: . And what’s a MUMMY movie without Weisz, anyway? If Fraser’s back, she better be! Sure, she may now be an Oscar winner, but hasn’t stopped others (ie, Nicolas Cage) from starring in fun movies, has it?
According to , the new script definitely has Weisz’s character in it, so it would be like a cheap, straight-to-DVD effort if she didn’t return… could you really take it seriously if they gave the same role to someone else?
