Nikki Finke over at “Deadline Hollywood Daily” is on a roll with the TWILIGHT sequel news. First she broke the news that director Catherine Hardwicke has had her ass booted off the Stephanie Meyer adapted vampire romantic drama franchise for giving Summit too much lip and now she’s reporting that Summit has sent out an offer to Chris Weitz to direct the sequel NEW MOON. He’s apparently still considering the offer and may do so if the film and the second follow-up, ECLIPSE, are done back-to-back. Is Weitz the right guy to direct the continuing adventures of Bella (Kristen Stewart) and her vampire beau Edward (Robert Pattinson)? More importantly, who cares?!
