Whale Watching Massacre!

How could you see the title above and not want to know more! A WHALE WATCHING MASSACRE—what a potentially outstanding concept! As soon as I caught sight of this little bugger, I just had to let you all know about it! The full title of this tongue-in-cheek horror/comedy is REYKJAVIK WHALE WATCHING MASSACRE and get this: it stars the original Leatherface (and Iceland native) Gunnar Hansen! Could this whale of a tale kick any more ass? Actually, YES! Check out the plot synopsis:

An epic tale about a group of whale watchers, whose ship breaks down and they get picked up by a whale fisher vessel. The Fishbillies on the vessel have just gone bust, and everything goes out of control. It’s a cross between the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, combined with the dark and bloody humor of EVIL DEAD.

Well, stab me with a friggin’ harpoon if that doesn’t sound like the best of fun! And did I just hear the term “Fishbillies”? Fantastic! Crazy Fishbillies are coming to get you! Oh man, I do hope this flick gets a US release. As for now, the project is moving through the pre-production process and looking at a release date in Iceland of September 2nd 2008.
