What did you think of…Black Panther?

The next entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe pantheon is upon us, this time with the long-awaited solo venture for BLACK PANTHER. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1966, the character has been a mainstay in the Marvel Universe ever since. After making his big-screen debut in 2016's CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR to much acclaim, T'Challa AKA BLACK PANTHER, once again played by Chadwick Boseman, returns home to Wakanda to face the perils of becoming King after his father's death. Joined by a stellar cast that includes Michael B. Jordan (Erik Killmonger), Lupita Nyong'o (Nakia), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Daniel Kaluuya (W'Kabi), Winston Duke (M'Baku), Martin Freeman (Agent Ross),Sterling K. Brown (N'Jobu), Angela Bassett (Ramonda), Forest Whitaker (Zuri) and Andy Serkis (Ulysses Klaue), BLACK PANTHER is yet another step into the various unexplored realms of the Marvel Universe, showing that while they certainly have a formula that they stick to, they aren't afraid to venture out, take some risks and open doors to more diverse and compelling stories.

So far, the reactions have been resoundingly positive for BLACK PANTHER, with our own Eric Walkuski giving it a 9/10, saying it's "…the most unique Marvel offering yet; visually and spiritually dazzling in a most refreshing way for this scale of popcorn movie." Chris Bumbray also gave the film a 9/10 in his review, offering that BLACK PANTHER is "…another top-shelf franchise for them that should run for decades to come." Most critics seem to agree, at least as far as ye olde Rotten Tomatoes rollup goes.

And with that, now it's your turn! We want to hear what YOU thought of the film! Naturally, we'd prefer you to comment only if you've seen the film as that's the point here, but do what feels good. Just don't get mad if you get trounced for trolling or posting blatant spoilers in headlines. Healthy debate, genuine thoughts, and respectful interactions is all we ask. So, is this the best thing Marvel has ever made or is this getting lost in overhype?
