What Josiah Saw trailer: Nick Stahl, Robert Patrick horror film comes to Shudder in August

A few months ago, we heard that the Shudder streaming service has acquired distribution rights to the Southern Gothic horror movie What Josiah Saw, starring Nick Stahl (Hunter Hunter), Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day), Scott Haze (Child of God), and Kelli Garner (Lars and the Real Girl). Now we know that the movie will stream exclusively on Shudder in North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand beginning on August 4th. Along with the release date announcement comes the unveiling of the What Josiah Saw trailer, which you can check out in the embed above.

Scripted by Robert Alan Dilts, earning his first feature writing credit, What Josiah Saw was directed by Vincent Grashaw and tells the following story:

Everyone in town knows about the haunted Graham Farm on Willow Road. You’ll hear there’s a bad history to it. Josiah (Patrick) and his youngest son, Thomas (Haze), are all that remain of this estranged family. But after experiencing terrifying visions from beyond, Josiah decides they must change their ways to right a great wrong. After being away for over two decades, Josiah’s eldest children, Eli (Stahl) and Mary (Garner), are enticed to sell the property and reunite at the old farmhouse in hopes of closing this haunting chapter of their lives for good. Sins of the past will be paid in full.

Jake Weber (Medium) and Tony Hale (Arrested Development) are also in the cast.

A Randomix Production, What Josiah Saw was produced by Grashaw, Bernie Stern, Randomix Productions’ Ran Namerode, Gemini Girls Productions’ Beth Elise Hawk, and Angelia Adzic. Cole Payne and Haze served as executive producers. Filming took place in Oklahoma.

Grashaw previously directed the thriller Coldwater and the drama And Then I Go, which was based on the novel Project X by Jim Shepard.

Grashaw had this to say about What Josiah Saw

I felt if I was ever going to do a film which scared people, it would need to be one grounded in a reality that was relatable. It was one of the most unique and terrifying scripts I’d ever come across, and I can’t wait to share this one with an audience.”

This movie looks very interesting to me, so I will definitely be checking it out sometime next month. Will you be watching What Josiah Saw after seeing the trailer? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
