What once was shelved will now be at FrightFest – Genre flick Bad Meat lives!

You guys remember a genre flick called BAD MEAT? Let me answer that for you – No, no you don’t. I’ll tell you why too: Because last we heard back in May 2008 this flick was shelved due to lack of funds.

Well it seems they found some cash somewhere because not only is the flick back on track, but it’s already done! Albeit it’s with a new director but damn… where did this come from? The Canadian horror flick apparently swapped out director Rob Schmidt for Lulu Jarmen and is now set to make it’s debut at this year’s FrightFest Film Festival! How about that for some news coming out of left field?

Meat is murder! A Boot Camp for troubled teens becomes a nightmarish charnel house when spoiled meat transforms the staff from sadistic fascists into something much, much worse… Get ready for spilt blood, vomit, faeces and bile – and not only on screen – in the strangest, weirdest destined-for-cult-dom gross-out in ages. It’s when the camp’s downtrodden cook, tired of the torture and abuse meted out to him and the problem youths, fixes a meal of illegal, diseased meat that events become horrifically nasty. For the meat is infected with a virus, which instead of simply making the guards ill as intended, transforms them into flesh-crazed maniacs! If our resentful heroes are to survive the carnage and make their parents proud, they must put aside their differences and work together. They’re certainly going to learn the lessons of maturity and responsibility – but in the hardest way possible.

The gory mess of a movie will be part of FrightFest’s All-Nighter at the Vue Cinema in London. That’ll be happening on October 29th. The other films that’ll be joining BAD MEAT in the All-Nighter are LIVID, MIDNIGHT FILM, FACES IN THE CROWD, COLD SWEAT and THE WATERMEN.

BAD MEAT sports a cast that includes Elizabeth Harnois (below), Dave Franco, Mark Pellegrino, Tahj Mowry and Jessica Parker Kennedy. To celebrate the announcement we’ve also got our hands on some stills from the feature. Just scroll down below for the goods. And there you have it! Enjoy the stills and keep it here for more on BAD MEAT as we hear it.
