Where is “Dexter” headed? Showtime president David Nevins talks it’s endgame

I’m currently in the process of catching up on the last two season’s of “Dexter” so any news of ongoing storylines has me treading softly, you understand. With that being said, today we’ve got an article over at Entertainment Weekly that has Showtime president David Nevins talking about the inevitable end of the series.

According to Nevins the eigth season of “Dexter” will potentially be it’s last… unless plans change of course. But as of now, that seems to be the case. But that’s not all… It seems the end will begin this season. Yes, the season that’s currently airing! Apparently events will occur that will start the downward spiral to the series end. Check it out from Nevins himself:

“Coming back for two more years gives us clarity about how and when it will go out. There’s things that are going to happen [this season] that will set up a very clear endgame that will take two seasons to tell. You have got to be there for the last two episodes.”

“Having that definitiveness always helps. We [he and “Fright Night Lights” showrunner Jason Katims] were able to plot very clearly. It’s rare to have that degree of certainty.”

So there you have it folks! A subtle sign of things to come I suppose. I know ‘all good things must come to an end’ but damn…
