Where’s Cabin Fever 2?

A little ways back, we learned that the long-gestating flesh-eating sequel CABIN FEVER 2: SPRING FEVER was looking at a possible release this April. Being right in the middle of springtime, that seems like a fair enough date. However, nothing was fully confirmed and seeing as how April is now less than two months away, somebody sure as shit better come forth with some more info. Thankfully, the flick’s director, Ti West, just stepped up to the plate to try and shed some light on the long delay as well as the correct release. Have a looksee:

“Well, it’s complicated… But the gist of the hold up was a disagreement in post production over how to complete the film…Followed by a series of unfortunate events and bad timings that made finishing everything more complicated and difficult than it needed to be.”

“I’m not sure where it is right now… I’ve read online that it is coming out in April… Could be true but I can’t confirm that. Last I heard it was almost done… So April could be possible.”

Wow. So the dude doesn’t even get the inside word as to when his flick is being released? I guess all those rumors of “creative differences” between Mr. West and other peeps on the set may be showing shades of truth. That’s too bad. The concept actually sounded like a pretty good time:

A high school prom faces a deadly threat: a flesh-eating virus that spreads via a popular brand of bottled water.

F*ck the prom! Nice! The cast of ill-fated dress and tux donners includes Noah Segan, Alexander Isaiah Thomas, Alexi Wasser, Regan Deal, and Michael Bowen. As an added bonus, Rider Strong and Giuseppe Andrews (who was hilarious in the first FEVER) will both return for the sequel.
