Who wants Crow remake?

One of the most iconic films/characters to hit the big screen in the early 1990s was THE CROW, partly because the film was dark, mysterious, and took goth to the next level, but also because it was the haunting last film of actor Brandon Lee. To this day, it is still among many people’s ‘Best Movies Ever’ list, and it’s not hard to see why.

Which makes the thought of there being talks of a remake (yes, a REMAKE) of THE CROW that much more blasphemous. Seriously, a remake?? And what’s even crazier than that? Action star Jason Statham has been quoted as saying he wants to play the lead if a remake were to happen!

Yes, the story gets even crazier with that last bit – in a recent interview with IESB, Statham had this to say: You know, there’s talk of them redoing The Crow. That was a good movie with Brandon Lee, although that was years ago. So if that one comes my way, bang! You know, there’s so many comic book movies out there and most of the time there’s only a handful of people who can do them any justice. Hopefully, they’ll come my way for one of them.

Because it was ‘years ago,’ it makes it less of a movie? Statham may just be talking out his ass, as it doesn’t really seem like he’s talking anything concrete in the interview as a whole, but the fact that it came up… well, that kind of worries me. A remake ‘just because’ is really the only justification here, as the film did the comic justice, and still stands strong today.
