Variety dropped word today on the actress that will be playing Dr. Ilyssa Selwyn
in the upcoming game: Alyssa Milano. Hmm interesting. Milano’s got one of those voices so I can definitely see her working out as a voice talent for GHOSTBUSTERS: THE VIDEO GAME. She’ll be joining the voice talents of Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Annie Potts, and Ernie Hudson. Aykroyd and Ramis penned the script for the game which is actually going to be considered as the third entry into the franchise.
Here’s what we’ve got going on with this upcoming next gen game: In the game, players become a “Ghostbusters” recruit who assists the original team to take down ghastly foes like the ginormous Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and god of destruction Gozer. Awesome. I can’t wait. Who hasn’t wanted to strap on a proton pack and yell how they’re not afraid of no ghosts?! Milano even spoke off a bit about the whole thing:
“Obviously, fans of the movie are going to miss Sigourney Weaver. I have so much respect for that character in the movie that I hope I do the position that she is in justice. I was just flattered to be asked to be part of ‘Ghostbusters’. It’s a little tricky because you have no idea what it will look like.”
GHOSTBUSTERS: THE VIDEO GAME hits shelves everywhere on June 16th. Keep it here for more updates as we hear them!
