I couldn’t believe no one picked up on this when it was announced, but hey, better late than never, I suppose.
In the 80’s, Saturday morning cartoons kicked ass, and unlike today, they really are worthy of being brought to DVD. Coming February 28th, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be releasing (finally) 3 volumes of The Real Ghostbusters. Each single disc release will set you back $9.95, and will run about 89 minutes (four episodes each). Now, these aren’t the big collector’s releases fans have been hoping for, since this is probably Sony’s way of testing the waters to see if there’s a warranted reason for releasing the entire series to DVD, which I hope they do. Furthermore, there aren’t any extras on these discs, so that makes the decision that much harder. Fans will have to decide whether they want to pick these up and show support for season sets, or pass on them because they aren’t what they want.
Regardless, here’s what you get on the discs, as well as artwork:
Volume 1: Spooky Spirits
Volume 2: Creatures Of The Night
Volume 3: Slimefighters
