In hopes that the film will break even on DVD, Warner recently announced the specs for their remake of THE WICKER MAN starring Nicholas Cage. Available to own December 19th, the film will sport an 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, alongside an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track.
The DVD will see the return of the dreaded flipper disc, as there will be two versions of the film included: an unrated cut with an alternate end sequence on one side, and the theatrical cut on the other. The only extras will be a commentary by writer/director Neil LaBute, co-stars Leelee Sobieski and Kate Beahan, editor Joel Plotch and costume designer Lynette Meyer, and the film’s theatrical trailer. Don’t expect a double-dip here, folks.
