Criterion is on a tear this week while announcing upcoming Blu-ray collections that deserve a spot on your shelf. Yesterday, the boutique movie house shared details about its physical release for Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, and today, they’re bringing David Lynch’s dark romantic crime movie Wild at Heart to the table. The dual announcements speak to the variety of Criterion’s curation, and we love to see it. Coming to the Criterion Collection on November 17, 2026, this new version of the 1990 thriller starring Nicolas Cage and Laura Dern has never looked better!
Sailor and Lula’s Wild Ride Gets the 4K Treatment
“With this torrid adaptation of the novel by Barry Gifford, David Lynch pushed his vision of nightmarish Americana into new realms of delirious excess and feverish romanticism,” says Criterion in its official write-up for the film’s 4K Blu-ray release. “Burning with libidinal abandon, Laura Dern and Nicolas Cage are Lula and Sailor, outlaw lovers whose reckless passion sends them on the run through a menacing South, where their dream of freedom collides with a vortex of violence and depravity. It’s occurred to me that I’ve never seen Wild at Heart, and that feels like a cinematic crime. Nicolas Cage is one of my favorite actors, and I don’t know how this film has eluded me for so long. I’m adding this movie to my cart right now, alongside my copy of KPop Demon Hunters. This aggression will not stand.
