Will Beall talks Aquaman setting and the opening of The Legend of Conan

Screenwriter Will Beall seems to enjoy working with fictional royalty, he's currently penning the script for Jason Momoa's Atlantean king in AQUAMAN and has, along with Chris Morgan, scripted Arnold Schwarzenegger's return to the throne in THE LEGEND OF CONAN. Beall recently spoke with /Film about both projects and while he obviously couldn't say much about either, he did comment on the where the action of AQUAMAN would take place.

I can tell you that not all of the action takes place underwater. Some of the most fun action in the movie actually takes place on dry land.

It's somewhat easier to imagine what the action taking place on dry land will look like, but I'm very curious to see exactly how they pull off Aquaman's underwater battles. As for THE LEGEND OF CONAN, the long-in-development sequel is still in the works but Will Beall knows exactly which image will bring us back into Conan's world.

It opens with this [hand on the chin]. It’s where you have to. It’s the sequel that we were promised and never got. I’m 11 when my father took me to see Conan the Barbarian which you should never take an 11-year-old kid to. It was a life changing thing. It’s an unbelievable movie. It comes back to [director John] Milius, right? There’s nobody better and it’s a real movie. It’s a truthful movie. Chris and I from the very beginning said there’s no reason to do it unless it’s a worthy sequel to Milius’s Conan and I think we’ve got that. I really do.

AQUAMAN is set for a July 27, 2018 release while THE LEGEND OF CONAN is still up in the air.
