Winona rydes Trek

JoBloJoBlo

If the earlier news that Bruce Greenwood was cast to play Capt. Pike in J.J. Abrams STAR TREK redux wasn’t enough to fulfill your STAR TREK casting news addiction, well then get a load of this. Winona Ryder is climbing aboard the Starship Enterprise (well, not really) to play the Vulcan mother of Spock (Zachary Quinto). Isn’t she just a little too young for that role? She’s only six years older than Quinto in real life. Is there some sort of STAR TREK folklore I’m missing here? Do Vulcans give birth as infants? I shouldn’t be complaining though, since my lifelong dream to see Winona Ryder with pointy ears will finally be realized. That time she dressed as an elf for Halloween doesn’t really count, since I couldn’t go out that night (pneumonia).
