British badass Ray Winstone is going hunting in RED SNOW, which is based on the true story of a serial killer in Alaska whose killing spree hit the headlines in the 1980s. (Presumably Robert Hansen, who killed approximately 20 young women in the early 80s.) Winstone will play an ex-SAS officer tracking down his missing daughter in the snow forests of a remote town in north Canada.
Stuart St. Paul wrote and will direct; he most recently wrote, directed and coordinated the stunts for FREIGHT which also sounds cool: it details the story of a gang of Russian people traffickers operating in the North of England… Winstone you’ll of course remember from BEOWULF, THE DEPARTED, and his breakout flick, SEXY BEAST.
The $4 million budgeted RED SNOW is set to begin shooting in Canada in April 2010.
