Take this one with a grain of salt, as there really isn’t any solid evidence of the following but here it is anyway: Fangoria is saying that they “heard through the grapevine” that Universal is going to delay THE WOLFMAN yet again. No reason is given, but considering that it was once slated to open in February but got pushed back because director Mark Romanek quit, it wouldn’t totally shock me if the powers that be want even more time to work on this hairy beast. Fango says it’ll debut in the Fall, but let’s wait and see if this pans out. (It’s currently slated to hit theaters on APRIL 3rd, where its only competition is a dreadful-sounding romantic comedy called THE UGLY TRUTH.)
Joe Johnston took the director’s chair after Romanek walked away, and will soon have his hands full directing CAPTAIN AMERICA for Marvel. The plot engorges…
Of course, Benicio Del Toro will portray both the fanged creature and his more human side, Larry Talbot. Emily Blunt, Hugo Weaving, and Anthony Hopkins co-star, and the great Rick Baker is in charge of making Del Toro into a growling, slobbering monster… You know, more so than usual.
