Wolfman inspirations

Today is not a very hoppin’ day on the news front, and while this story is technically new, the information really isn’t… or is it? MTV had a chance to talk to Benecio Del Toro about his role in THE WOLFMAN recently, in which Del Toro described his inspirations for playing the Wolfman. Here’s a bit about what he had to say:

[When I did my research], I definitely looked at what Lon Chaney Jr. did in the original ‘Wolf Man’ and the movie. I also looked at the ‘Werewolf of London,’ the Henry Hull movie, which was made maybe 6 years before in 1935, and looked ‘Curse of the Werewolf’ with Oliver Reed.

Yep, the guy really did his research–good! So often it seems that when people make remakes or retakes or what have you, they don’t bother really studying the source material. Why not? Seems like the smart way to go to me!

I say this isn’t really new news, as he’s described his research method during this past year’s Comic-Con, as well as a few other occasions… and I doubt it’ll be the last. I’m not saying it’s his fault, but there’s only so many answers you can give to the same questions over and over again–at least his answer doesn’t keep changing, right?
