Would you cast any of these four actors for the part of Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2?

When last we heard from the Harry Osborn casting front, three actors were in the running for a part hat had slowly been shifted from one which “called for a bigger, athletic actor” to one that had subsequently been “reconfigured and [was] now targeting a more ‘dark and edgy’ actor.”  They were Dane DeHaan (CHRONICLE, LAWLESS), Brady Corbet (MELANCHOLIA, THUNDERBIRDS), and Alden Ehrenreich (TETRO, BEAUTIFUL CREATURES), and none of them seemed to excite you very much.  Well I have four new names for you today, four more gentlemen the studio is testing that seem to better balance between the original description of Harry Osborn and the way he has been subsequently taken in the rewriting of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2.

And so, our new crop of possible Harrys includes Sam Claflin (SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES), Eddie Redmayne (LES MISERABLES, WAR HORSE), Douglas Booth (NOAH, LOL), and Boyd Holbrook (THE HOST, “Hatfields & McCoys”).  It is unclear at this time if the original trio of Dehaan, Corbet, and Ehrenreich is still under consideration, or if the newly-rumored focus on “athleticism and good looks” is truly the new template then they may be out of the running in favor of the new four.

Either way, casting seems to be happening in relative earnest.  Hopefully we’ll have more news for you soon regarding the final choice, as THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 is gearing up to swing back into a cinema near you on May 2nd, 2014.
