My good buddy (and name-thief) Eric from Bloody Good Horror gave me a heads-up about an interview that he conducted with Joe Lynch, director of WRONG TURN 2, where Lynch discusses the possibility of a third entry into the franchise. (I guessed this would happen last month.)
Lynch says: “We’re talking about it now, and obviously the writer’s strike is holding it up.”
“I haven’t seen any scripts so I think it’s just ideas at this point, but I have a feeling that they’re going to want to jump right into this thing as soon as possible so who knows. There could be a script cranked out the second the writers strike is over, so here’s hoping…”
Is that “There could be a script cranked out the second the writers strike is over” because of all the ideas stocked up, or is it because there will be virtually no difference between this flick and the other two, outside of the 3 sitting in the title?
I enjoyed WRONG TURN 2 in a “ah hell I’m already watching it, might as well finish it” sort of way, but there needs to be some radical new ideas inserted at this point (“The Wrong Turn Freaks go to Florida!”) for me to get really excited about another go-round.
Check out the entire interview (which is worth a look) HERE!
