Dustin Rhodes’ longtime wrestling persona is Golddust. With an appearance modeled after an Academy Award, the bizarre, gilded character’s gimmick is an obsession with films. In a case of life imitating art, Rhodes revealed via Twitter that he will direct, produce, and star in a genre picture entitled THE FIRE WITCH.
“Next Thanksgiving I will be shooting my first movie, THE FIRE WITCH, that I will be directing and producing and will be in it. Just in the starting stages, but will let you know more when more is known. It won’t be a wrestling movie. It is a horror film. It will be a low budget film and my very first. Lots of work ahead.”
No other information is available at the present. One may assume that WWE Films is producing the effort, but the brand has decided to go in a more “family friendly” direction as of late. Their most successful film to date, however, remains the 2006 slasher SEE NO EVIL.
