Max Brooks’ WORLD WAR Z will be making it to the big screen after what has felt like years and years of speculation, but now that director Marc Forester (QUANTUM OF SOLACE) is attached, things seem to be moving steadily along. i09 scored some kick-ass concept art for WWZ from artist Daniel LuVisi, art that LuVisis put together in hopes of scoring a job on the production. If Forester and crew are smart, they’d hire this dude with a quickness!
I found WWZ a difficult book to get into, mostly because of the narrative style that simply wasn’t my kind of style, and with all the different stories, it was hard to really get engrossed into what was going on, but as a movie… especially with scenes looking like this… I could see it working very well.
According to LuVisi, the above image was one of the most difficult images I’ve ever done. Incredibly challenging to the point where I wanted to quit. But through thick and thin I forced myself to complete it. And what a job he did–flippin’ awesome stuff right here.
