Alright you X-Philes, get ready to pack your bags for L.A. 20th Century Fox is inviting YOU to the premiere on JULY 23! (Well, the first 500 of you fanatics to show up, that is!)
Read on for the deets:
Twentieth Century Fox is hosting a Fan Celebration at the world premiere screening of THE X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE on July 23 at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
The studio is inviting X-Philes to gather that day in specially-built seating in front of the Hollywood landmark, where they can observe the red-carpet arrivals – and participate in a special conference with the film’s stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, plus writer-producer-director Chris Carter and writer-producer Frank Spotnitz. Situated on a stage in front of the theater, the four filmmakers will field questions from the fans, prior to fulfilling their more traditional duties with the press.
Seating will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Special credentials will be distributed at 4:00 p.m. to the first 500 fans that arrive that day. The festivities will begin at 6:00 p.m.
A few colleagues and myself were just talking the other day about the lackluster ad campaign Fox has so far put together for I WANT TO BELIEVE, which should be an “event” movie. There’s practically no buzz surrounding the film (and that’s not just due to the studio’s secrecy regarding the plot); it just doesn’t look very gripping. I’m a huge fan of the show (still watch it on Sci-Fi all the time!) and I want to be excited about this thing, dammit! This gesture by the studio is a good step forward…
The film opens on JULY 25… Do YOU believe in it?
