Oliver Stone’s Vietnam epic (I assume it’s an epic, aren’t all of his movies?) PINKVILLE has picked up rapper/actor/pimper of rides, Xzibit, to play a soldier who is convinced that everything that he did during the war was carried out in a moral way. The film will look at the 1968 My Lai Massacre, in which more than 500 people (mostly women, children and the elderly) were slain by U.S. soliders. Many of them were victim to sexual misconduct before they were killed, and the atrocity greatly diminished support for the Vietnam war, back in the USA. Wow, that paragraph went bad, real quickly.
The film already has a dynamite cast in place with Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum and Woody Harrelson signed on to play roles. Xzibit (or ‘X’ as he is affectionately known within the rap circles) is currently shooting AMERICAN INQUISITION. You’ve recently seen him scowl a lot in GRIDIRON GANG, XXX: STATE OF THE UNION, and yes, on MTV’s ‘Pimp My Ride’.
