Yet another Amityville project in the works with Geoff Meed’s Amityville Haunting

You guys are aware that there’s a trio of AMITYVILLE flicks in the works as you’re reading this right? We’ve got Dimension Films and directors Casey La Scala and Daniel Farrands’ official AMITYVILLE sequel THE AMITYVILLE TAPES. Then we have Eric Walter’s documentary MY AMITYVILLE HORROR and AMITYVILLE: THE LEGACY 3D, which is based on the book AMITYVILLE: THE EVIL ESCAPES.

And today we’ve got yet another AMITYVILLE project heading our way. Unfortunately this one is coming at us from The Asylum… It’s something called AMITYVILLE HAUNTING and apparently actor and stuntman Geoff Meed has already been tapped to direct.

According to B-D the film will feature the character names similar to the Benson murders of Naples, which was when Steven Benson (above) killed his mother, tobacco heiress Margaret Benson; and his brother, tennis player Scott Benson. It seems the original AMITYVILLE filmmakers optioned the rights to the story and names back in 1986.

AMITYVILLE HAUNTING is currently casting for a shoot in Los Angeles set to start next week so more info on this little diddy should be rolling our way soon.
