Orion Pictures says you can keep Pet this December

Carles Torrens' long-gestating psychological thriller PET has finally been acquired! The rights have been picked up by Orion Pictures and Samuel Goldwyn Films, who will put the flick out into limited theaters and VOD on December 2nd with a DVD release to follow on December 27th for a nice, post-Christmas comedown present.

Says Torrens:

I am thrilled at the opportunity to share PET with audiences worldwide. Samuel Goldwyn Films and Orion Releasing approached us with the same enthusiasm we had about the film and we are thrilled to work with them on the project.

In the vein of HARD CANDY and GONE GIRL, PET is a psychological thriller that deals with the themes of identity, loneliness, selflessness and what it means to truly possess another. It's told through the prism of two isolated people.

Seth bumps into his old high school crush and quickly becomes obsessed with her. He takes her captive underneath the animal shelter where he works but soon suspects that his old flame is not who she seems to be. PET is at its heart a dark love story which examines how much one is willing to sacrifice in the name of love.

Dominic Monaghan plays Seth and Ksenia Solo plays the object of his affection. PET also stars Jennette McCurdy, Nathan Parsons, and HELLRAISER: JUDGMENT director Gary Tunnicliffe. The film was written by LAZARUS EFFECT screenwriter Jeremy Slater, who is also working on Fox's Exorcist series.
