You may never look at Minions the same way after their new trailer

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

The DESPICABLE ME films have been met with great success and that's due to, in no small part, the titular Minions. They're tiny, they're yellow, and they speak in a gibberish concocted of English, Spanish, and whatever else director Pierre Coffin decides to spew out of his mouth. This spin-off prequel film will focus on three particular Minions (Stuart, Kevin and Bob) as they are recruited by super-villain Scarlet Overkill (Sandra Bullock) alongside her inventor husband Herb (Jon Hamm), as she hatches a plot to take over the world. The latest trailer has hit for the animated film, and I feel it's my duty to report to you that there's a Minion in a thong. The goggles do nothing.

I never cared much for the DESPICABLE ME movies myself, and the Minions even less so. They always struck me as weird, creepy creatures. I AM curious to know what they actually are. I got the impression that all the recklessness and accidents they're involved in probably kill them off at a rapid pace. How do they reproduce? Are they made? Grown? Animals? I don't think MINIONS really aims to answer those questions, but you never know.

MINIONS will hit theaters on July 10, 2015.
