Zack Snyder says 300 sequels could cover battles throughout history

It's hard to believe that it's been less than 10 years since Zack Snyder's 300 was released and started Snyder on his rise to becoming one of the biggest comic-book directors of all time. 300 followed King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) as he led 300 Spartans into battle against the Persian "god-King" Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and his invading army of more than 300,000 soldiers. The heavily stylized film was a massive hit, especially considering its small budget, and later spawned a sequel/prequel/interquel by the name of 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE. Zack Snyder was asked whether there will ever be another 300 sequel while speaking with Collider, and the director suggested that further sequels could move beyond ancient Greece.

There may be. There may be. We’ve been talking a lot about sort of different incarnations of 300. We’ve been talking about is there a way, possibly, we move out of Ancient Greece and use it as a framing device for other conflicts that happened throughout history. I think I mentioned that we talked about the Revolutionary War version, and we talked about the Alamo, and we’ve talked about there’s a battle in China, a “Lost Legion” kind of concept, any of those kinds of things are on the table.

It's certainly an interesting idea, bringing the 300-esthetic to famous battles throughout history, and it would be a good way to keep the franchise going indefinitely long after people grow tired of red capes, swords, and six-packs. Zack Snyder's latest comic-book epic, BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, hits theaters a mere week from today on March 25, 2016, so make sure you've got your brown pants ready to go. In the meantime, check out this new pic of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman.

Which famous historical battles would you like to see take place in the 300 universe?
