Zodiac director’s cut in ’08

JoBloJoBlo

I really loved ZODIAC. I thought it was a little long, but still a tremendous film. The DVD hits shelves on 24th July, but you might want to let that date pass you by (not only because that version is to be a vanilla release, in that there are hardly any features attached), because apparently Fincher’s 2-disc Director’s Cut will hit in 2008. Slashfilm reports that this edition will contain:

…special features missing from the single disc version, including an audio commentary by David Fincher, actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey, Jr., screenwriter James Vanderbilt, producer Brad Fischer and crime novelist James Ellroy, extensive behind-the-scenes featurettes detailing the production from start to finish, and an in-depth look at the actual Zodiac crimes, including all-new interviews with the original investigators and survivors

I’d love to say I’ll be waiting for that beast, but I’m that guy who has to own every single DVD edition of all the movies he likes. I think I have like 5 different FIGHT CLUBS. Still, those of you with slightly better discipline: now you know!
