Rob Zombie talked with Icons of Fright recently about his plans for H2 (as well as his reasons for doing it after he had said “no f*ckin’ way” to a sequel), and Sir Zombie gave up a few details as to what we might be seeing in this new HALLOWEEN adventure. Mostly, he dishes on where we pick up, and how we’ll be seeing a very different Laurie Strode this time around…
“It takes place over some time, but it starts that night and then essentially, I mean… the first one, Laurie has no idea what just happened. But then she wakes up the next day and someone’s going, “Oh by the way, your parents are dead. All your friends are dead. And actually, your brother is uh, Charles Manson.”
“…now she’s not the happy-go-lucky girl, now she’s very fucked up famous person, trying to make sense of this…So it’s really the journey of figuring out who she is.”
Essentially, if the first film was Michael’s story, this is Laurie’s… Zombie confirms that this is not related to the original HALLOWEEN 2 in any way, and also explains how shooting on location in Georgia will “open up the world” of Haddonfield. I remain dubious about this project – considering I really don’t like the first one – but hell, I’ll give it a shot if it looks promising. Zombie is on thin ice with a lot of horror fans, so he’d better nail it… All I’m sayin’…
