Zombieland: Double Tap red band trailer brings profanity to the apocalypse

With only two weeks to go before the release of director Ruben Fleischer's ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE TAP, Sony has unleashed a new red band trailer for the film that presents an unfiltered look at the long-gestating sequel to their 2009 smash hit. While the trailer isn't as intense as some red band offerings – in terms of profanity and gore – it allows the film's characters to express themselves au naturel, and speak openly about all the f*cked up shit that comes part and parcel with an unrelenting zombie apocalypse.

Directed by ZOMBIELAND and VENOM helmer Ruben Fleischer, ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE TAP sees Woody HarrelsonJesse EisenbergEmma Stone, and Abigail Breslin returning to their roles as Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita, and Little Rock, respectively.

When the film arrives in theaters on October 18, the aforementioned zombie-bashing crew move to the American heartland as they face off against evolved zombies, fellow survivors, and the growing pains of the snarky makeshift family. Joining the original cast for life after the apocalypse are Zoey Deutch as Madison and Avan Jogia as Berkeley. Also set to survive the undead are Rosario DawsonThomas Middleditch, Luke Wilson, with special appearances by  Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.

For the eagerly-awaited sequel, Fleischer will re-team with original ZOMBIELAND writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (DEADPOOL 2). Gavin Polone is producing with Reese and Wernick also lined up to executive produce. Meanwhile,  Lauren Abrahams will oversee the project for Sony.

ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE TAP will shamble into theaters on October 18th.
