Zombieland writers prep Cowboy Ninja Viking for Disney

Move over COWBOYS & ALIENS, there’s another cowboy crossover film on the horizon. ZOMBIELAND writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will write and produce COWBOY NINJA VIKING, an action film based on the comic miniseries by AJ Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo. As you might expect from the title, the plot is fairly straightforward but the story is as such:

COWBOY NINJA VIKING is the creation of Doctor Sebastian Ghislain, a psychotherapist who recruits Multiple Personality Disorder patients to produce a unit of counter-intelligence agents called Triplets. But what happens when those guys become out of control assassins? That’s when the deadliest Triplet of them all, COWBOY NINJA VIKING, is called in to take down his own brethren.

Reese and Wernick took the script out to studios last week with producer Mark Gordon and Disney quickly (and surprisingly for the studio, which recently resigned to focusing on more family-friendly films) snatched up the rights. The writers are a busy bunch working on such fanboy-friendly fare lately as GI JOE 2, DEADPOOL, VENOM and ZOMBIELAND 2.
