Zombieland’s Abigail Breslin wants darker genre roles

Young actress Abigail Breslin really burst onto the scene back in 2006 with her Oscar nominated performance in indie hit LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE. Since then the young lady has done several big films, but for the most part they’ve been romantic comedies and kid’s flicks. Well she broke that mold with last year’s ZOMBIELAND and it seems she’s looking to continue that trend!

According to Reuters, who scared an interview with the actress, Ms. Breslin is looking to dabble a bit more in our beloved genre.

“I am obsessed with horror movies … I would love to do a ‘Scream’-type movie.”

Actually she’s down for darker roles in general, currently starring as the blind and deaf Helen Keller in Broadway’s THE MIRACLE WORKER. Breslin would even be interested in a role such as ‘Lady Jane Grey, who as a teenager ruled England for a brief period before being beheaded.’ Quite different than DEFINITELY, MAYBE huh?

So what do you guys think? Would you guys like to see Breslin (above) tackle some meatier roles? Hell Dakota Fanning is doing it so why not right? The only flick I’m concerned with Breslin doing is one ZOMBIELAND 2. You with me on that? Hell yeah you are! So there you have it. To check out the whole article you can head right over HERE.
