Zombies are loose on a U.S. military base in Valeri Milev’s Code Red

Distribution house eOne has nabbed U.S. rights to CODE RED, a horror flick from RE-KILL director Valeri Milev. The film will also eventually see release in England, Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Scandinavia, South Africa and New Zealand, indicating interest is extremely high on the flick, which doesn’t go into production until March.

Story is about a female doctor struggling to find her daughter after a long lost World War II biological weapon explodes on a U.S. military base in Bulgaria, turning people into mutant zombies.

Milev has said the film will show off a “brand new type of zombie”; a plenty big boast considering it’s hard to think of a new take on the genre, let alone on the monsters themselves.

No cast has been announced yet; a late 2012 release is planned.
