Zoolander 2 maybe

For some reason, there’s been somewhat of a ruckus on the internets over a line at the tail-end of this USA Today article regarding Ben Stiller’s upcoming comedy

NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM in which the possibility of him making a sequel to

ZOOLANDER is proposed. More specifically, the article mentions “After the Farrelly brothers’ film, he’s exploring a sequel to Zoolander, his takeoff

on the modeling industry…” which isn’t exactly concrete evidence that the film is anywhere near a go. And when you consider Stiller’s addressed the idea

before (as per Moviehole), explaining why it probably won’t

happen, saying “I would love to do a Zoolander sequel. There are a couple of obstacles – one is the studio hasn’t asked!…The other, bigger

obstacle is that Drake Sather, who created the character, passed away, really tragically. He was a really good friend of mine, and it’s hard for me to figure out how to do it.

He created the character, then me, John Hamburg and him wrote the script. So that’s frustrating to me that he’s not there, because he was the heart and soul of all the

shorts and the script. I think John and I could address it, but that really took the wind out of my sails for a bit,” chances are it’s really more of a strong desire than a

real concrete plan. But hey, if it does happen, count me in because ZOOLANDER rocked the hizouse! In the meantime, check out Stiller in the aforementioned MUSEUM

when it opens December 22nd.
