The first image of Keanu Reeves as ex-hitman John Wick

There has been little talk about the Keanu Reeves action thriller JOHN WICK since we last brought up it in September of last year. Now Lionsgate has seemingly given it a release date, reminding us this movie still exists. Reeves stars as a former hitman who goes back to work; do they ever really retire though? We have your first look at very professional looking Reeves below.

First here’s the official logline:

An ex-hitman comes out of retirement to track down the gangsters that took everything from him. With New York City as his bullet-riddled playground, JOHN WICK (Keanu Reeves) is a fresh and stylized take on the “assassin genre”.

This is David Leitch and Chad Stahelski’s (two former stuntmen) first feature and I’ll admit it’s usually not a good sign that a movie with a nice leading star is given a sudden release with next to no marketing. Perhaps it will find another life on VOD. The movie also stars Michael Nyqvist,Dean Winters, Bridget Moynahan, Ian McShane, John Leguizamo and Willem Dafoe.

JOHN WICK is set for sudden release on October 24, 2014.
