2007 New Line preview

Today it’s NEW LINE CINEMA’s turn to show us what they’ve got in
store for 2007, in terms of theatrical releases. In case you missed our previous
studio previews, you can check out the other studios’ slates here: SONY, WARNER BROS
and UNIVERSAL. New
Line looks to have hit a decent balance of family, action, fantasy and crap,
with films like THE NUMBER 23, FRACTURE and SHOOT ‘EM UP definitely sparking my
interest (and the latter isn’t solely because Monica Bellucci plays a
whore in it…I hear the film kicks ass as well), while the family fare
obviously isn’t for me anyway.

A couple of the films are "wait and see" flicks for me
including the return of Chris Tucker to movies after a 6-year layaway (I guess
he was running out of money) in RUSH HOUR 3, while HAIRSPRAY and THE GOLDEN
COMPASS certainly don’t look like my kind of movies, but I may switch sides by
the time they’re released, depending on word of mouth, advertising, clips and
shit. Also, Travolta honestly looks like he’s having a blast in that
fattie chick outfit! MR. WOODCOCK also doesn’t look too bad (great title!), although Billy Bob really oughta try “stretching” his acting muscles a little, this film’s plot reads like a copy of his character from SCHOOL FOR SCOUNDRELS.

By the way, major kudos to New Line for tossing us over 100
images for these films, unlike other studios that will only send you 1-2 per
movie, if that! Click through any of the pics below for a gaggle of new photos,
including about 20 for THE GOLDEN COMPASS and about 15 for HAIRSPRAY. You can
