I’m never really blown away by the posters for for the Oscar ceremonies, but the one for the 79th Annual Academy Awards, seen below, is relatively cool. The fonts of the quotes in most cases corresponding to the title logos of the films from which they come is a nice touch, and I like how the one from LORD OF THE RINGS is simply a huge “Frodo!”. But why two quotes from JERRY MAGUIRE? Yeah, yeah, sure “Show me the money” was pervasive enough but “You had me at hello”? That one’s strictly reserved for mocking and parody. Click your favorite quote to head to the official Oscars website. Like the poster tells us, the Academy Awards will be held on February 25th.
