Battle damage in Dark Fate image confirms Arnie’s Terminator status

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Arnold Schwarzenegger hasn't gotten much attention in the marketing of TERMINATOR: DARK FATE, as the focus has primarily been on Linda Hamilton's return to the role of Sarah Connor and new additions Mackenzie Davis and Gabriel Luna as a "machine fighter" and a villainous Terminator, respectively. We've seen a bearded Arnie standing around and toting a big gun, and not much else.

Arnie's grey beard style in DARK FATE has even caused some confusion over whether he's playing a Terminator or a human character in the film, but now a new image has arrived online to confirm that he is a Terminator – and to assure us that he is going to have a fight with Luna's Terminator.

In this image, Arnie's character is sporting some familiar Terminator battle damage, a cut on his face revealing a bit of the metallic cheekbone underneath.

TERMINATOR: DARK FATE was produced by James Cameron, writer/director of THE TERMINATOR and TERMINATOR 2, and ignores the events of the TERMINATOR films Cameron wasn't involved with. Cameron crafted the story with David S. Goyer, Justin Rhodes, Charles Eglee, and Josh Friedman. Goyer and Rhodes then wrote the screenplay with Billy Ray.

In addition to Schwarzenegger, Hamilton, Davis, and Luna, the film also stars Natalia Reyes as heroine Dani, Diego Boneta as Dani's brother, and Edward Furlong in "a small role" as John Connor. Brett Azar and Jude Collie were the CGI stand-ins for Schwarzenegger and Furlong in scenes that take place during the time of TERMINATOR 2.

Directed by DEADPOOL's Tim Miller, TERMINATOR: DARK FATE is set to reach theatres on November 1st.
