A rumor has been spreading around that writer/director Rob Zombie's new film THREE FROM HELL, a sequel to HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES and THE DEVIL'S REJECTS, has been scheduled to reach theatres on Halloween, but when asked about the film's release on SiriusXM's Trunk Nation LA Invasion: Live From The Rainbow Bar & Grill this week, Zombie did not confirm that as the release date.
What Zombie did confirm is that he finished working on the movie this past weekend, and expects to see it released sometime
…in the early fall — September vicinity."
"September vicinity" would put THREE FROM HELL in the same basic release window as Zombie's previous films HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN II, and 31, all of which were released on the last Friday in August (despite all of them being set on Halloween).
Within this franchise, THE DEVIL'S REJECTS was released in July, and HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES in April – in fact, today (April 11th) marks the sixteenth anniversary of the CORPSES release.
THREE FROM HELL doesn't have an official synopsis yet. Most viewers had assumed that CORPSES / REJECTS characters Otis (Bill Moseley), Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie), and Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig) were killed during the shootout with police at the end of THE DEVIL'S REJECTS, but when this new film catches up with them we'll find that they have been spending the time since we last saw them locked up in prison.
Moseley, Moon Zombie, and Haig are joined in the cast by Danny Trejo, Daniel Roebuck, Clint Howard, Richard Brake, Austin Stoker, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Richard Edson, Emilio Rivera, David Ury, Dee Wallace, Pancho Moler, Tom Papa, Dot-Marie Jones, Richard Riehle, Kevin Jackson, Billy Blair, Steven Michael Quezada, Bill Oberst Jr., Sylvia Jefferies, Sean Whalen, Chaz Bono, Barry Bostwick, and Jossara Jinaro.
Whenever THREE FROM HELL gets released, Lionsgate and Saban Films will be the companies releasing it.
