She-Hulk, series, Marvel, Disney+

During the Disney Investors Day event earlier this month, it was finally confirmed that Tatiana Maslany would be playing Jennifer Walters in Marvel's She-Hulk series for Disney+, which was incredibly exciting. It was also revealed that Mark Ruffalo would be reprising his role of Bruce Banner/Hulk, but the biggest surprise was saved for the announcement that Tim Roth would be back as the Abomination.

In an interview with Emmy Magazine, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige dropped a new tidbit about the She-Hulk series when he revealed that the show will be a half-hour legal comedy, which Feige acknowledged is something they've never done before. Additionally, the Marvel honcho said that the story will be staying true to the She-Hulk comics from writer/artist John Byrne, which should give you a clue in regards to the tone of the series. I'm definitely excited to see what they come up with. In the comics, Jennifer Walters was a young woman who received an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin, who just so happens to be Bruce Banner. As a result of this transfusion of radioactive blood, Jennifer found that she could transform into a large, powerful green-skinned version of herself, but unlike her cousin, she's able to retain much of her intelligence and emotional control.

Kevin Feige also dropped a tidbit about the Moon Knight series, which will star Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector, a former U.S. Marine who has version of a dissociative identity disorder. "It's been a while since we've had an action hero who jumps out of buildings and gets into fights," Feige said, "[but] the mental illness is a unique aspect of the program." Both She-Hulk and Moon Knight are expected to debut on Disney+ in 2022, but our first Marvel Disney+ series will be launching on January 15, 2021 with WandaVision.
