A new look at Pixar’s Soul

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Despite everything that’s going on out there, 2020 is still shaping up to be a banner year for Pixar, with them releasing not one, but two movies. Hot on the heels of ONWARD (very underrated in my book) comes SOUL, which comes from Pizar legend Pete Docter (INSIDE OUT, UP) and stars the voice of Jamie Foxx as Joe. A middle school music teacher who’s long dreamed of performing jazz on-stage, after an accident his soul winds up seperated from his body. Now, he has to find his way back before his earthly form dies. Sounds like quite the tear-jerker to me, but that’s no surprise. Some of Pixar’s movies, especially when Docter’s involved, could make a stone cry.

So far, SOUL is set for a November release. Here’s hoping all is back to normal by then so this wonderful looking film drops in theaters as scheduled. We could also use something uplifting right about now.
