New Black Panther featurette shows off the bad-ass warriors of Wakanda

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

With the release of BLACK PANTHER quickly approaching, we'll soon be completely immersed in the world of Wakanda, and by the looks of things, audiences are very much looking forward to it. When tickets went up for sale earlier this week, BLACK PANTHER quickly set a record for the most pre-sale tickets sold for a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. Not bad. Our introduction to Wakanda in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR was frustratingly brief, but the upcoming Ryan Coogler film will finally give us the chance to fully explore T'Challa's (Chadwick Boseman) kingdom, which includes the Dora Milaje, the all-female special forces of Wakanda. The latest featurette for BLACK PANTHER shows off just how bad-ass these warriors are, as well as diving into their role in the story.

The official synopsis for BLACK PANTHER:

Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

BLACK PANTHER will hit theaters on February 16, 2018.
