New clip from Liam Neeson’s Mark Felt biopic seems awfully prescient

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

MARK FELT: THE MAN WHO BROUGHT DOWN THE WHITE HOUSE is a pretty explanatory name, as it's about Mark Felt (Liam Neeson)…taking down the Nixon White House amid the Watergate scandal. It's actually kind of like a porn title, in that you know exactly what you're getting when you walk into the theater. Speaking of porn names, Mark Felt's undercover nickname was actually "Deep Throat", named so after the popular porn movie screening at the time. I wonder how they'll self-seriously dramatize the origin of that little factoid.

Anyway, the above clip – where Liam Neeson's Felt berates the head of the FBI for not doing his job – seems pretty prescient when it comes to the recent barrage of embarrassing firings and resignations currently involving the FBI (whether or not the "President" was involved is yet to be seen, of course). Either way, no matter your political leanings, it's obvious the Watergate break-in was a major crime, and even worse that a sitting President was involved in it. If any other political scandal of this magnitude is to hit us (if it hasn't already), let's hope we have another Mark Felt in our corner. Especially if he looks like Liam Neeson.

Meanwhile, MARK FELT: THE MAN WHO BROUGHT DOWN THE WHITE HOUSE will start investigating a theater near you today!
