Jon Hamm to join Jeremy Renner & Ed Helms for Tag comedy

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Oh man, I remember playing tag with my neighborhood friends while growing up. Those were some good times. Except for that one time when this kid that lived at the end of my block, Sean, threw a fistful of acorns at my face in an effort to escape my speedy wrath. I chased his skinny ass all the way home and caught him right before he was able to make it through his front door and then I … Hey, never mind!

Today, it's been announced that Mad Men alum and Superman in carnate actor Jon Hamm will be joining actors Jeremy Renner, Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, Hannibal Buress, Annabelle Wallis, and Rashida Jones for New Line's upcoming TAG comedy. Set to be directed by Jeff Tomsic, TAG is based on a true story featured in the Wall Street Journal about a group of friends who have been playing a no-holds-barred version of the children’s game Tag for the last 30 years.

The no-holds-barred comedy is being written by Mark Steilen and Rob McKittrick and will be produced by Todd Garner, Mark Steilen, and Sean Robins. Hamm is set to play a pot-smoker who lost the love of his life due to his lack of responsibility. Poor stoners in film, they're always getting such a bum rap.

Be sure to stay close for more updates as plans for what sounds like an outrageous comedy are unveiled. TAG is expected for a June 28, 2018 release.
