So it seems that Jeremy Renner will NOT be in MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 6, continuing his streak of always a bridesmaid, never a bride, when it comes to action franchises (same thing happened to him when Matt Damon came back for JASON BOURNE after Renner's BOURNE LEGACY).
And speaking of always being a supporting player in massively successful action franchises, it seems Renner will be joining Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily in ANT-MAN AND THE WASP, I assume as Hawkeye. No word on how that'll play out, or how big his role is, but I personally always think it's cool when heroes show up in other franchises. It makes the universe feel alive. And I've grown to like Hawkeye over the series (cemented in AGE OF ULTRON when he's like "The city is flying! We're fighting an army of robots! And I have a bow and arrow! None of this makes sense!")
Anyway, ANT-MAN AND THE WASP will crawl into theaters July 6th, 2018, while MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 6 will star Tom Cruise and Henry Cavill, dropping into theaters July 27th, 2018
